Day 1: Paro – Thimphu
Arrival to Paro Airport. Transfer to Thimphu, modern capital of Bhutan and then to popular resort. On the way to Thimphu visit Tachog monastery, the first place to visit on our tour to Bhutan. Visit the largest and tallest statue of Buddha in the world, Buddha Dordenma. Evening welcome dinner. After meeting with guide take a time to set up the route and discuss the last details of the tour.
Day 2: Thimphu – Punakha
Drive to Punakha with a short stop at Dochula Pass that is 3050m above sea level. Later visit the Punakha Dzong, the 17th century fortress which now the seat of the district administration and the winter residence of the Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot of monastic body, followed by visit to local market. Also visit the Chimi Lhakhang, popularly known for fertility temple where it is widely believed that the couples who do not have children and wanting one, will be blessed with a child. In the evening, drive back to Thimphu. Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.
Day 3: Thimphu - Paro
Today full-day sightseeing in Thimphu valley includes; visit to Trashi Choe Dzong, the beautiful medieval fortress which houses most of the government’s office and King’s Thorne room. It is also the summer residence of Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot. Then proceed to Textile and Folk Heritage Museum, a fascinating testimony of the Bhutanese living cultural and traditional. Then drive to memorial Chorten, the stupa built in the memory of Bhutan’s Third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. After that drive to Paro and check in to hotel. Then visit to the National Museum and visit Rinpung Dzong with attractive wooden cantilever bridge over Pa Chu River. Evening stroll Paro market and overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Paro Taktsang
Hike to Taktsang, magnificently build attached to the cliff. The trip will take us 2 hours. The route is set up individually according your expectation and physical fitness and usually can be slightly modified during the tour. Transfer back to the hotel and free time.
Day 5: departure
In the morning transfer to Paro Airport, for your flight back home. We look forward to seeing you all again in the land of happiness and hope you have beautiful memories. Tashi Delek.
