Trekking in Bhutan can only be hiked in particular season i.e. March, May, late September and December. All the trekking in Bhutan are arranged at designated place.
On arrival at Paro airport, you will be received by our representative and check-in to hotels of Paro. Later visit the Ta Dzong (National Museum), which served as the watch tower for Paro Rinpung Dzong in the early days. After that will go down to visit the Paro Rinpung Dzong, which sits on a hillock above the Paro Township. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Day 02: Paro Excursion
Begin the day with a short drive to Taktsang Monastery, the spot where the Guru Rinpoche flew on the back of a tigress and mediated. On the return to Paro town visit en-route Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines in the kingdom of Bhutan. In the evening visit local market and overnight in the hotel.
Day 03: Paro – Thimphu
Drive to Thimphu, the modern capital town of Bhutan. En-route Tachog monastery by crossing the iron chain bridges built in late 1300s. After lunch visit the Memorial Chorten, dedicated to the Late Third King of Bhutan. Towards the evening visit Trashi choe Dzong, ‘the fortress of the glorious religion’. Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.
Day 04: Thimphu Day Trip
After breakfast full day sightseeing including visit to the Memorial Chorten, the stupa built in the memory of Bhutan’s Third King. Then visit to Textile & Folk Heritage Museum, a fascinating collection of Bhutanese material culture and living traditions. Later visit National Library which holds a vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts. After that, visit Trashi choe Dzong, the beautiful medieval fortress which houses most of the Government offices and King’s Throne room. Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.
Day 05: Dechenchholing (Thimphu) – Dopshing Pang 17km, 5 - 6 hours
After breakfast drive to Dechenchholing. The transportation will reach you up to Pangrizampa, the last motor point. From here the trek starts till Dopshing, which takes 5 - 6 hours through villages. On the way, one can see the Phajoding Monastery. After 2kms away you will get to see Thinleygang village, the Talo Monastery and the motor highway towards the ancient capital of Bhutan. The trek drops gradually from the pass till you reach the campsite.
Day 06: Dopshing Pang – Chorten Nigpo 18km, 6 - 7 hours
The hike to Chorten Nigpo goes through thick forest, villages and paddy felids. The camp site is at the altitude of 2,700m.
The journey will be through several villages till you reach a motor road. Our transport will meet at Kabesa and then drive to Punakha which is the ancient capital of Bhutan. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 08: Punakha – Limukha 15km, 5 - 6 hours
Along the road of Punakha Dzong by crossing the Pho Chu river which drains the remote Lunana regions. After waking through the paddy fields for about 15 minutes, we start climbing gradually through scattered chirpiness forest and about 3 hours enter deciduous forest. Further, you will enjoy the sight of Punakha Dzong, village and some snowcapped mountain peaks. The campsite is near Limukha village at altitude 2,250m.
Day 09: Limukha – Chungsakha 15km, 5 - 6 hours
The day begins in the thick forest of oak species and rhododendrons till we reach a pass called Dochula. Then descend through thick forest leading to a small monastery dedicated to Drukpa Kuenley (popularly known as Divine Madman). From Chungsakha will get to see the Samtengang on the ridge of south. Walk down till you reach the vehicle high-way road and then drive for an hour to Wangduephodrang. Overnight in Wangduephodrang lodge.
Day 10: Wangduephodrang via Punakha – Paro
After breakfast, visit Wangdue Dzong and local market. After that drive to Punakha to visit Punakha Dzong. After lunch drive to Paro. On the way visit Simtokha Dzong, Bhutan’s most ancient fortress. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Day 11: Depart Paro
After early breakfast, drive to airport for the flight and bid farewell.
